The 12 Color Seasons Explained
The extended 12-season system breaks each of the four main seasons into three sub-seasons — giving a more precise palette for people who don't feel fully described by one of the four broad types.
Spring Seasons
All Spring types have warm undertones and a lightness or brightness to their features.
Warm · Clear · Bright
True Spring
The archetypal Spring. Warm golden skin, warm hair (golden blonde to light auburn), and clear bright eyes. Colors are warm, clear, and moderately saturated — not too light, not too deep.

Light Spring
A lighter, more delicate version of Spring, closest to Summer. Light skin, light warm hair (very light blonde), and soft light eyes. Palettes are lighter and softer than True Spring but still warm.

Warm Spring
The warmest Spring, closest to Autumn. Stronger warm undertones, possibly darker or richer warm hair. Can wear more saturated warm colors than True Spring without being overwhelmed.

Summer Seasons
All Summer types have cool undertones and a soft, muted quality to their coloring.
Cool · Muted · Soft
True Summer
The archetypal Summer. Cool undertones, ash blonde or ash brown hair, blue or grey or soft green eyes. Colors are cool, greyed-down, and mid-depth — dusty roses, soft blues, lavender.

Light Summer
Closest to Spring. Lighter version of True Summer — very light skin, light ash or cool blonde hair, pale blue or grey eyes. Palettes are lightest of all Summers and have a delicate, powdery quality.

True Autumn
The archetypal Autumn. Strong warm golden or olive undertones, rich warm hair (auburn, copper, dark warm brown), earthy brown or hazel eyes. Colors are warm, muted, and medium-to-deep in depth.

Cool · Clear · Vivid
True Winter
The archetypal Winter. Strong cool undertones, high contrast, striking features. Black, navy, true red, icy pastels, jewel tones. Pure white rather than cream.
